Venture Associate

Vedang Tarare

Based in India

As a Mumbai University law graduate, I decided to trade courtroom drama for startup theatrics. My pivot from legal briefs to business pitches led me on a thrilling three-year journey through the Indian startup ecosystem.

My first act? Helping a legal tech startup conquer the North American market, proving that even lawyers can go viral (in a good way). Next, I joined an EdTech venture’s strategy team, where I wore more hats than a milliner’s shop window. My starring roles included launching a bespoke engineering program that made and launching an alternative business post-grad course that had MBAs questioning their life choices.

Working with founders and solving problems became my jam. Now, as a Venture Associate, I’m helping Equiteh’s vision of empowering the next generation of innovators. My days are spent collaborating with visionary founders to build and scale AI tools for the global majority, because who said world domination had to be evil?

When I’m not busy being a Venture Associate, you’ll find me pounding pavements as an avid runner, getting lost in books (and occasionally in off beat places as a backpacker), or binge-watching global cinema with a soundtrack that would make Spotify jealous.

But my true claim to fame? I’m an experimental chef who regularly subjects my friends to my culinary creations under the guise of “dinner/lunch parties.” They say friendship is tested in times of crisis - mine survive my cooking. Now that’s loyalty!
